on February 26th, 2008Theme Club : Your ideas welcome !
I am planning to launch a theme club, where people will be able to become a member for an annual fee and download the themes that I release for the club.
I would like to get your views on this, before I go further.
How much I should charge as a membership fee for an year? How do you like the licensing terms for those club themes? Should it still require a link back from the footer?
I am planning to give one new theme every month for the club members.
Please pour in your 2 cents.

Why bother? WPDesigner is already doing that.
Only reason for you to do it as well would be if you were doing it cheaper (or better) than WPD, and I very much doubt that it can be done any cheaper than the 5$ he charges for a year. And frankly; having seen many of your themes up til now, I seriously doubt that you could do it better also (sorry, no offense intended).
Thanks m-alo for putting your 2 cents on this topic.
I am not going to design all the club themes by myself [I know I am not a graphic artist]. I can hire some good designers and then code the theme [which I feel I am good at].
let us see what others think.
Thanks.
With all due respect m-alo, the designs of Wordpress Themes at WPdesigner are not that great.
I fully support the Strategy of Wordpress Themes by Sadish about the Wordpress Theme Club.
It`s going to be a winner !!!!
Best
thanks Eugenia for your words of encouragement.
Dear Sadish
I stumbled into you from Patricia’s blog as I’m using Vanilla Mist and dared to modify its header image.
Now I am wondering whether it’s you or the Wordpress people whom I need to bother since I don’t get the page order to work as I like.
All this to suggest that a club would be a good idea. I actually like the ‘pay per click’ payment method - besides a possible ‘flat rate’ subscription.
For it’s the support that is worth paying for!
And thus I look forward to hearing from you and wish you both more and more power to your designing and coding elbows!
May blog speed be with you!
Sabine
Thanks m-alo for putting your 2 cents on this topic :D
Hi Sadish, I am a member of wp designers club which I love and is great value. There is plenty more room in the marketplace for more wordpress theme clubs as people bring different things to the table. For example; with wp designers themes they are based primarily on graphically backgrounds looks great but not suitable for modification for niche markets. Your designs however are clean and simple allowing for easy header, font changes etc. When I am creating a niche website this is where I nip over to and see if there is a theme that I can use. This is probably one of the reasons that Misty Look is one of the most popular themes around.
My 2 cents - go for it!

Thanks leanne for putting your 2 cents. It was really a motivating comment.

I also like the idea of a “Sadish Theme Club”, especially because I think that your themes are always great in quality (like Browser compatibility) and in price-performance ratio.
But personally I would prefer the club to be more a support type of club, because I am not changing my blog theme every month, but want to stay up-to-date. It would be great if you could offer updates, bugfixes etc. on a regular basis, like for example now with the new WordPress 2.5 features.
Also I am a bit confused with your (exaggerated) hundred different blogs and websites. I never know which is your actual website for what purpose, where to check for updates and so on.
(Thanks for adding the subscribe to comments plugin!) ;-)
Matthias, wprocks.com should be the only site and feed you would need hereafter.
I use both the mistylook and regulus themes on WordPress and have trouble getting the more tag [] to work.
I want to use it for both posts and comments.
I particularly wish to shorten some of the comments on my blog
