WordPress Themes by Sadish

They have released a beta version of WordPress 2.3.

I was testing it on my local install and it definitely looks much more promising. Inclusion of “Tags” feature to the core system is one of the major improvements.

At the same time, MistyLook 3.4 needed some tweaks for it to work properly in WP 2.3 and so I am in the process of making MistyLook 3.5.

Yes, I am writing a book on “Working on WordPress Themes” and you can take a look at it !

Once in a while, you want to put your blog into a maintenance mode and fix some of the things in the backend.

I know there are plugins available like this one, but I use a small custom theme, whenever I want to set my blog into such a mode.

I called it a “BRB [Be Right Back] Theme” and now I make it available for everyone.
It looks like this.

I did some minor improvements to the MistyLook theme.
1. Single Posts now show the previous post and the next post at the top.
2. Added a file called “notfound.php” which gets included whenever you get a 404.
3. Changed the profile image that shows up in the sidebar.

Its now available for download !

Thanks to Everyone who has participated in my contest to name my theme !. This contest pulled more entries than I really anticipated.

Just like me, most people saw some kind of
“Hope for the Future”,
“A new Beginning”,
“A Glorious Start” and
“Divinity” in that header image and that header image was the inspiration for many of names suggested by the participants.

I did feel the same thing when I first looked in that image, in one of the Free CSS Templates.
I was trying many different header images while developing this theme and I felt a completeness when I put this image into it.

After going through the list of names, Finally I decided to go with “Glorious Day” as a name for this theme.

It was not the one suggested by anyone, but the following entries were helpful in arriving at this name.

2. Holy Light - suggested by Jochen Van de Velde
3. Majestic Glory- suggested by Dave J. (Scoop0901)

I would like to congratulate these 3 people as they are the winners of this contest.

This is the next free wordpress theme, that I am working on.

This is a really really simple contest.

Suggest a Name for this theme. I just called it “Theme1″ for now, but when I release it on September 1st 2007, it might carry the name you suggested.

1. The name has to be in English.
2. It should not exceed 2 words.
3. It should be easy to remember and refer to.
